Refunds and Exchanges

I hope that you will be delighted with your Stephen Roper jewellery. To give you reassurance and confidence in your purchase, I have a returns policy that allows you to return your purchase to me within 14 working days for a full refund, excluding the original delivery charge. Alternatively, the item can be exchanged

Jewellery returned to me must be unworn, in perfect condition, and in its original packaging

The jewellery item will be inspected upon return to my studio.

Exempt from my refund and exchange policy are rings made to your size, and bespoke commissioned jewellery items, which cannot be refunded or exchanged

Jewellery return postage is the purchaser’s responsibility. I recommend that the jewellery item be returned to me using a trackable, insured shipping service. Return postage is to be paid for by the purchaser

In the unlikely event of receiving a damaged or faulty item, please contact me within 7 days of receiving the jewellery to notify me of the problem, and I will respond promptly.

Bespoke Commissions

If you would like to discuss my making you a unique jewellery commission, or have a question, please email simchagallery@gmail.com or telephone me on 07967 750588

Commission process

A design graphic is provided after an initial discussion by appointment at the gallery, or by email, of the proposed commission design and budget

When the design, budget and timescale are agreed upon, a deposit invoice is issued, and a non-refundable 50% is payable by bank transfer

If your own jewellery is to be upcycled for the commission, it is appraised, documented and kept securely at the gallery.

You will be regularly updated with work in progress images. At this stage, amendments can be made upon discussion with me

Ring commissions will need to be fitted prior gemstone setting, and an appointment will made for in person fitting at the gallery

Individually made

Every piece of jewellery is unique and is made individually, with the handmade process resulting in slight variations from online product images, or from a commission design graphic.

Ring sizing

When ordering rings online it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they have ordered the correct size. The most accurate way of establishing your ring size is to visit a local jeweller for measurement, and importantly, stating the width of the ring that you would like. Please be aware that for a wider ring to fit comfortably, it is likely to be between half a size and one whole size bigger than for a narrow ring. The best time to have your ring size measured is when you are warm, and in the afternoon. Your finger measurement can otherwise be too small if it is cold, or if you have not had much physical activity on that day

Advice

If you need any advice as to sizing, or gemstone choice, item size etc, please don’t hesitate to email   simchagallery@gmail.com or  telephone me on 07967 750588

Jewellery Care

Jewellery should be cleaned regularly. This can be done using a soft toothbrush with soapy water. For silver pieces which are textured, use silver dip, avoiding contact the gemstone with the dip, or for smooth pieces, use a jewellery cloth. Cleaning with chemicals is not recommended on gold jewellery, or on oxidised silver jewellery

Jewellery is delicate, so avoid wearing your jewellery when showering or bathing, when applying beauty and hair products, when washing up, swimming, gardening, or during any other activity when the jewellery may come into contact with chemicals or become otherwise damaged. When not being worn, store the jewellery safely in the original packaging supplied with the item. Store the jewellery away from heat and humidity

Gemstone settings

Stone settings can become loosened over time and with regular wear. I recommend you check regularly that they are still secure. Your jewellery should be returned to me for an inspection if you do notice any movement. Utmost care has been taken to set stones securely, however I am not responsible for the loss of stones after purchase, so please check the settings regularly

Warranty

Each piece of jewellery is handmade by Stephen Roper, with its own unique characteristics, and slight variations from the website product images, or from commissioned design graphics, are to be considered part of the unique character of the work.

It is the purchaser’s responsibility to ensure they have ordered the correct ring size.

The wearer is responsible for the care of their jewellery.

Manufacturer defects are covered up to 12 months from the date of purchase. This does not account for general wear and tear.
